Providers

Cloud : Most of the infrastructure is built using Hetzner, for the usual reasons : it’s cheap with an easy to understand pricing, the dashboard is good and reactive, and it’s EU-based. Also, affiliate link (wink wink).
Domain name : Currently using a mix of Infomaniak and OVH, depending of which domain is available where. With both providers, you can get two free emails with every domain, and with both the process is the same : you have to first create a postmaster@yourdomain.com before creating the whateveryouwant@yourdomain.com
Hardware : Ubiquiti for on-prem networking gear, salvaged stuff for the rest.

Cloud infrastructure

Servers : Hetzner ARM-based virtual private servers, because costs.
Operating system : The latest Debian available (as of time of writing, Debian 13). See basics/debian server for my preferred configuration.
Firewall : Hetzner Cloud Firewall, available with your cloud accound. Unless specified, ports 22, 80 & 443 open, the rest is closed.
Storage : Hetzner Storage Box.
